I am an ecosystem ecologist who studies elemental cycling and food web dynamics in freshwater ecosystems. I ask fundamental questions about ecological patterns and processes through a combination of mechanistic field studies and data analyses at multiple spatial scales, and my work spans a variety of tropical and temperate ecosystems.
