Katherine Fazekas
Research Assistant
BA, Chemistry; Biochemistry concentration, College of the Holy Cross
Katherine joined the Collins Lab in June 2024 as a research technician working on harmful algal blooms. She brings with her a background in chemistry, and a host of experience in the MT/WY backcountry. Originally a Massachusetts native, Katherine has grown fond of the Rocky Mountain West, particularly the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. After graduating in 2022, Katherine moved to Livingston, MT where she completed a year of service as an Americorps VISTA. During her term, she helped kickstart a climate change adaptation plan, sparking her interest in climate change impacts on the ecology of the intermountain West. Katherine plans to continue her academic journey within this scope and is thoroughly excited to gain more experience with water quality research. In her free time, Katherine can be found wandering around the woods, enjoying river time, sliding on skis, playing pickup hockey, or reading a good book.
