Elise Ehlers
Research Technician
BS, Biochemistry, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Elise is a native Nebraskan and earned her degree from UNL in December 2021. Following graduation, she developed a strong background in analytical chemistry while working as a research technician and lab manager for UNL’s Ecosystem Stoichiometry Lab. During this time she also spearheaded data acquisition efforts for the development of the STOICH database.
Elise started as a summer research technician for Sarah’s Lab in May 2023. Her research interests lie within HCBs and cyanotoxin production. Particularly, she is curious how seasonality, nutrient stoichiometry, and community dynamics influence HCB toxicity. Elise is most excited to trade her lab goggles in for sunglasses and spend as much time as she can out in the field this summer!
